Caterina Monti, MAGENTA Associate,
Caterina Monti is a global public health and nutrition expert with over two decades of experience designing, evaluating, and advising humanitarian and development interventions across more than 30 countries. She has led field-based research and strategic evaluations for leading organizations including Médecins Sans Frontières, IFRC, ACF, and Oxfam, with a focus on maternal and child health, nutrition, WASH, and community-based surveillance.
Caterina’s work is grounded in a deep commitment to evidence-based programming and community engagement. From the refugee camps of the Thai-Myanmar border to post-conflict zones in Syria and Afghanistan, she has developed methodologies and delivered operational recommendations that have shaped policy and practice. Her expertise spans qualitative and quantitative research, strategic planning, and capacity building, with a strong emphasis on accountability to affected populations.
Caterina holds a Master’s in Humanitarian Assistance from Ruhr Universität Bochum, a Diploma in Hygiene and Tropical Medicine from KIT Royal Tropical Institute, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Medicine and Transnational Research at ISGlobal, University of Barcelona. She speaks fluent Italian, English, Spanish and French, and has working knowledge of Arabic and Dari/Farsi.
