Nedal Alwan, SBC Programme Manager

Nedal is a SBC Programme Manager at MAGENTA. He has over 7 years' experience in the international development sector, across various focus areas such as economic development, gender-based violence, social inclusion, disability inclusion, countering violent extremism, as well as safeguarding. Nedal’s expertise covers project management, M&E, research and business development. Over his career, Nedal has managed a portfolio of projects for a multitude of donors such as FCDO, Africa Development Bank, UN Women, USG and British International Investment.

At MAGENTA, Lana manages and coordinates complex SBC programmes from incpetion to close out across the MENA regions. His programming portfolio spans a range of thematic areas including health (UNICEF Lebanon), Waste Management (Chemonics International, Jordan), Entrepreneurship (UNICEF Jordan), and Strategic Communications (US Department of State, Jordan). As a MAGENTA Academy trainer, she has led capacity building and skills development training to actors in governments, local and international NGOs, development agencies, and the private sector.

Nedal has BA in Global Studies from the University of California, as well as a MA in Economic Policy from SOAS, University of London. He is a native English and Arabic speaker, and speaks basic conversational French.
