Jocelyn Lehrer, Associate Network

Jocelyn Lehrer is a public health and gender/social justice researcher and practitioner with over 25 years' experience in the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East and Africa. She has methods expertise in social and behaviour change communication, community organizing and mobilizing, and qualitative research. Her subject expertise includes mainstreaming gender equality and social inclusion (GESI); gender-based violence prevention and response; and the promotion of positive masculinities and sexual/reproductive health and rights.

Jocelyn founded and directs the Men’s Story Project, an innovative movement-building initiative in which men publicly share personal stories that take a stand for gender/social justice. She has also worked at the nexus of gender and health with organizations such as MTV/VH1, UN Women, USAID, the University of California – San Francisco (UCSF) Center for Global Reproductive Health and the Stanford Global Center for Gender Equality.

Jocelyn holds a Doctor of Science (Sc.D.) degree from the Harvard School of Public Health and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the UCSF Center for AIDS Prevention Studies. She is a native speaker of English and Spanish.
