Monica Vierna, Behavioural Research Officer

Monica is a Behavioural Research Officer at MAGENTA. She has over 7 years' experience researching, designing, implementing, and evaluating policy solutions in Latin America and the Caribbean. Her areas of expertise include development economics, gender and social inclusion, and social justice. She specialises in quantitative research, including developing and analysing surveys, employing statistical models to study social issues, and creating monitoring and evaluation strategies for policy interventions. One of Monica’s main interests is integrating underserved populations’ voices in policymaking and promoting gender equality.

A core member of MAGENTA's research team, Monica applies SBC approaches and behavioural science techniques across a diverse range of projects. She has led on the design and implementation of experimental studies and mixed-methods projects in Latina America and the Caribean, Asia, MENA, and Africa.

Monica holds a Master of Science in Development Economics and Policy from the University of Manchester and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad de las Americas Puebla. She speaks native Spanish, fluent English and basic Italian.
