Gender Equality and Inclusion
Our approach to gender quality and inclusion is firmly embedded in the rights-based principle of ‘Leave No One Behind.’ When researching, designing, and implementing gender equality and inclusion interventions, we use human-centred design and participatory approaches to ensure that every voice is heard and that everyone’s needs are addressed. Importantly, we recognise that gender equality isn’t just about empowering and improving the rights of women; it involves findings ways to support men and boys to challenge the harmful social norms and expectations that they face too.
We have experience across a range of gender areas, including technology-facilitated violence, gender-inclusive social protection, and positive masculinities. We have worked to advance the inclusion of children and persons with disabilities in Kyrgyzstan and Mozambique and shifted perceptions and attitudes around gender norms within Jordan’s peace and security institutions. Our work does not stop at ensuring individuals are treated with fairness, equality of opportunity, respect, and dignity; it seeks to transform every facet of the systems that uphold harmful norms and beliefs about who is and isn’t included.
